What is diabetic maculopathy?
Maculopathy is the progression of background retinopathy into the macular. In this stage, you can face reading difficulties, face identification difficulties, etc. 

What is proliferative retinopathy?
Proliferative retinopathy is the advanced stage of diabetic retinopathy in which the retina becomes blocked.

It usually takes several years for diabetic retinopathy to bring blindness to your eyes. So If you have retinopathy symptoms, follow these steps.

  • – Stick to your meal plans
  • – Exercise regularly
  • – Control high blood pressure
  • – Avoid alcohol and smoking
  • – Use omega 3 contain foods (fatty fish)

If you could not control the diabetic retinopathy in its early stage, you have to get main treatments as 

-Laser treatment
-Injections of medication into your eyes
-An operation to remove blood or scar tissue from your eyes.

Laser treatment  
     Destroy abnormal blood vessels that have grown in your retina.
Injections  
     Your eye will be injected with the medicine that reduces the swelling and leakage of blood vessels.

The best advice is to do regular eye examinations for diabetic retinopathy at least every two years. There is no other way of detecting retinopathy. So if you have diabetes, adapt to the best diabetic meal plans containing omega-three foods as many as possible.
